Russian singer Vadim Stroikin, 59, died after falling from the 10th floor of his apartment while police were searching his home on suspicion of financially supporting the Ukrainian military. The incident took place at his residence in St. Petersburg. According to reports, Stroikin went to the kitchen, saying he wanted to get a drink of water, and then fell out of the window.
He had publicly criticized Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and was under investigation for allegedly supporting a terrorist organization. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Originally from Chelyabinsk in central Russia, Stroikin had worked in radio as a music program producer and also managed a travel agency. For the past decade, he had been giving private guitar lessons and performing.
