A horrifying case has surfaced where Thai women were deceived by advertisements for "legal surrogacy" and then trafficked by a Chinese crime syndicate in Georgia, where they were forced into human-egg harvesting. Around 100 women have fallen victim to this crime, with some rescued, but many still remain trapped.
The victims saw advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook, which promised payment for becoming surrogates for couples unable to have children. The ads offered between 400,000 to 600,000 baht (approximately $11,500 to $17,200 USD) and stated that all expenses, including passport applications and travel, would be covered by the employer. The ads also misleadingly claimed that surrogacy was legal in Georgia.
However, upon arrival in Georgia, their passports were confiscated, and they were confined to dormitory-style accommodations with no freedom to leave. While in captivity, they were regularly injected with hormones to stimulate their ovaries for egg harvesting. Some victims have reported not receiving any compensation during this process. The eggs that were harvested are believed to have been sold illegally.
The Pavena Foundation for Children and Women in Thailand is calling on both the Thai and Chinese governments to work together in rescuing the remaining victims and dismantling the criminal organization responsible.

This crime is incredibly harmful to women who just want to have children.
I wonder if they could catch them all with an undercover operation.
There’s always a catch with deals that seem too good to be true.
