Seoul police have launched an investigation after BTS member JIN was accused of inappropriate behavior by a Japanese woman in her 50s during a fan event.
The woman reportedly kissed JIN on the neck while hugging him. JIN appeared visibly uncomfortable following the sudden act. Witnesses and fans expressed outrage, and the incident has received significant media coverage in South Korea.
On February 27, Seoul police confirmed that they had identified the woman and requested her to appear for questioning. According to legal experts, the act could be punishable under South Korea’s Sexual Violence Punishment Act, carrying a penalty of up to three years in prison or a fine of 30 million won (approximately $22,500).
