Woman Falls Victim to Fraud Despite Consulting Police – Transfers $2,000

crazynews
On the 14th, the police reported that a woman had fallen victim to fraud.
The woman received a suspicious phone call from a man on her mobile phone, instructing her to transfer money.
While she was driving to the bank and still on the phone, she stopped by a police box.

A male officer in his 20s took the phone and identified himself, saying, "I’m a police officer." However, the man on the other end of the line said, "I need to talk to her directly." So the officer returned the phone to the woman.
Later, the woman proceeded to transfer cash to the scammer at a convenience store in Awa City.

A police sergeant in his 40s was also present at the police box. After the incident, the sergeant asked the younger officer, 'Did you prevent the fraud?' The officer reportedly replied, 'Yes, I did.'

Viewer Comments:
The biggest “contributor” to this scam might actually be the officer.
Why did the young officer believe he prevented the crime…?
Honestly, the old lady who relied on the police officer is the most foolish.
