A 33-year-old unemployed man from Hokkaido, was arrested for stalking his ex-girlfriend, a woman in her 30s, by sending bank transfers with messages requesting contact. From November last year to January this year, he repeatedly used a banking app to send small amounts of money, entering messages like "Ichido renraku kudasai" ("Please contact me") in the sender’s name field.
On December 23, the woman reported the matter to the police after noticing unusual transfers to her account. Following an investigation, authorities identified the man and arrested him on March 4.
During questioning, the man admitted to his actions but denied having romantic feelings, stating, "I did it, but I have no romantic interest." Police are continuing to investigate his motives and whether he committed any additional offenses.
