On January 20, a 46-year-old man was arrested in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture, for stealing an ambulance he had called to his home. According to the police, the suspect, while receiving treatment, suddenly took out a knife and drove off in the ambulance. He later stated, “I thought I would go to the hospital by myself.”
According to the police, the suspect called an ambulance around 7:00 PM on the 20th, claiming he had a stomachache. While emergency medical personnel were treating him, the suspect suddenly became angry and pulled out a knife. The paramedics managed to escape unharmed, but in the meantime, the suspect got into the ambulance parked outside his home and drove off.
After receiving a report from the ambulance crew, the police launched an investigation. The ambulance was later found about 100 meters away, parked in a drugstore parking lot, with the suspect still inside. During questioning, the suspect admitted to stealing the ambulance and explained, “I thought I would go to the hospital by myself.” It was also revealed that the suspect had been drinking alcohol prior to the ambulance’s arrival.
Viewer Comments:
If he was going to a drugstore, he didn’t need to go to the hospital.
He should have just taken a taxi.
He must have some sort of alcohol addiction.
