“Are You Robbing the Store?” – “Yes, I Am.” → Suspect Immediately Caught

crazynews
In the early hours of December 22, 2024, just before 4 a.m., a robbery took place at a convenience store in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The lone night-shift employee was in the back room when a man wearing a black hat and mask wandered around the store before entering the back room with a 10 cm knife in hand.

The employee asked, "Are you robbing the store?" to which the man calmly replied, "Yes, I am."

As per store policy, which advises employees to comply with robbers, the employee led the man to the register and handed over approximately $1,300 in cash.

Since the suspect wasn’t carrying anything, the employee politely asked, "Do you need a bag?" and placed the money inside before handing it over. However, when the robber attempted to leave, the employee noticed an opening, swiftly disarmed him from behind, and restrained him.

The police arrived shortly after and arrested the suspect, who later admitted, "I just wanted money."

The employee was unharmed and later received a letter of appreciation from the police for his bravery.

Viewer Comments:
The clerk and the robber were both way too careless.
Good thing the robber was an idiot, but that was actually pretty dangerous.
I feel like this guy would fail at anything he tries.
