An American Airlines flight experienced an unusual delay after a passenger's Wi-Fi network name was flagged as a potential security threat.
According to U.S. aviation media, the incident occurred in February 2025 when a concerning Wi-Fi signal was detected onboard, leading to operational disruptions.
The delay affected American Airlines Flight 2863, which was set to depart from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina. During boarding, a Wi-Fi network named "There is a bomb on the flight" appeared on the list of available networks. In response, police officers boarded the aircraft, and the boarding gate was temporarily shut down. All passengers were required to undergo additional security screening.
It was later determined that the suspicious network name was merely a prank by a passenger. Once authorities confirmed there was no real threat, the flight was cleared for departure. However, according to the flight tracking site FlightAware, the delay caused the aircraft to arrive in Charlotte 4 hours and 23 minutes behind schedule.

His explosive sense of humor caused trouble for everyone.
He should set it to “Love American Airlines flight” next.
The police should just charge him with business disruption.
