Rice Field Art in Northern Thailand Depicts Dragon and Cat

crazynews
A rice field in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand, has been transformed into a breathtaking piece of art featuring a dragon and a cat, symbolizing recovery from devastating floods.

The creator of the rice field art, farm owner and automotive engineer Tanyapong Jaikham, explained in an interview that the cat represents the people of Chiang Rai, who were severely impacted by catastrophic flooding during last year’s monsoon season. In the artwork, the dragon, last year’s zodiac animal, is depicted cradling and protecting the cat.
Thanyaphon collaborated with 20 friends and family members over the course of a month to meticulously plan and execute the design. Using AI technology and satellite imagery, they crafted the intricate artwork at a cost of approximately 500,000 baht (roughly 15,000$). "With the help of cutting-edge technology, we were able to handle the detailed work more easily," Tanyapong shared.

Although the piece was unveiled in late December, Tanyapong noted that the rice field is not yet prepared to accommodate a large number of visitors.

I’m curious about the castle-like structure nearby, too.
It seems like it’s worth the $15,000.
A new genre: farmer-artist!
