A family of gorillas at Kyoto City Zoo has captivated audiences with their ability to use tablets to earn food rewards. The family consists of Momotarou, a 24-year-old father, Genki, a 38-year-old mother, and their two sons, Gentarou (13) and Kintarou (6). They have learned to recognize and tap numbers from 1 to 9 on a touchscreen in the correct order to receive treats.
In a video, Momotarou struggles to remember the numbers but manages to complete sequences up to 6. Meanwhile, Gentarou and Kintarou impress with a 70% success rate on sequences involving numbers greater than 10, responding faster than their father. Despite being older, Genki skillfully uses the tablet, even outperforming Momotarou.
Visitors were delighted to see the gorilla family using the tablet to get food.
