Tourists visiting the popular 'Snow Village' in southwestern China were disappointed to find that the advertised picturesque snowy scenery was actually created using cotton and soapy water. This sparked widespread criticism.
Located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, the attraction was promoted with images showing thick snow covering the roofs of log cabins to attract visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday. However, upon arrival, visitors discovered that the "snow" was made from large sheets of cotton, bedding materials, and even staples. Many expressed anger and disappointment over the misleading presentation.
In response to the backlash, Snow Village issued an apology on social media, attributing the situation to an unusually warm winter. In a statement, they explained, "We purchased cotton to create a ‘snowy’ atmosphere, but it did not achieve the desired effect and left visitors with a negative impression." The attraction also promised refunds to dissatisfied guests.
